The cheese Farm

I had a wonderful work day. The children were absolutely adorable and we had a fun excursion today. We visited a cheese farm. The farmer was already waiting for us to give us a tour around the farm when we arrived there. We saw cows and horses and the children learned how the cows were milked and what you can make from milk.

The farmer’s wife taught the children how cheese was made. A very warm and kind woman that loved children and her work at the farm. Here enthusiasm was really felt and the children behaved lovely and listened to everything she had to say. It’s so nice to meet people that really love what they are doing. They were allowed to taste the cheese and even make one.

Afterwards the children were allowed to explore the farm on their own except from an area the cows walked freely. Only the adults where allowed there the farmer explained. So they were to look at the animals behind the gate.

Miss Sarah, miss Sarah! One of the children shouted.

Yes? I asked as I was walking towards the child.

Look, he is peeing!!

Well, I laughed, first off yes cows also need to pee and second I need to ask you something. Are cows boys or girls?

Both! He said without even thinking.

Really….? So what are bulls?

Boys! He said without thinking again.

I looked at him with exaggerated doubt on my face. So what are cows then?

Booooth! He said irritated…I just said so.

Yes, you did I said, but how can you see when it’s a boy or a girl then?

A boy has horns….

A bull I asked?

Yes.

So what are cows then because I do not see any horns?

……right at this point he just looked at me really bothered…..

Well he said….boys and some girl’s but it is a man’s world!!

I nearly peed myself like the cow we were watching from laughing.

And he continued we are not to go there! He pointed beyond the gate. Do you know why?

Yes I said I do. Do you know to?

Yes he said. Because we are not human yet…!

I had to run to a toilet at this point…

Have a nice weekend!!

Dinner Friends

Having friends over for dinner equals lots of fun!!

Make your own wrap:

The leftovers were thrown into one big pot by me as I love to play with food…something I have done since I was little. I do admit it looks disgusting!!! A couple of embarrassing read ugly pictures came from it that I will not show you…..if you saw it yesterday (when one of the pictures were still on here) you were lucky .....or not....

The dessert ended a lovely meal.....but not our lovely evening as we continued talking all through the evening.

Thank you ladies! Love you! See u both soon!!
Kisses and hugs. xoxo

ramblings #3

I am sitting yet again....the whole standing up while doing the whole internet thing doesn’t suit me.

The neighbor has been listening to horrible music…..really loud. It’s a mix between Hawaiian or Indonesian and cheesy love songs ….

The past few days I have been busy with our house. I tend to forget that. So now all the washing is done, husband hanged some paintings that still needed to be hanged and a lamp was moved upstairs. I cleaned and we have decided on a few things that will make the process of finishing our house easier. I will promise to give you a tour around the house when its ¨finished¨….well by finished I mean more finished than it is now…...

Tonight two of my friends will stay over for dinner. I love dinner guests. Well I like dressing up the table but I tend to get a little stressed out about the menu. Today I will have a Tortilla Wrap night. Everyone can make their own wrap. Delicious and easy. I will post it later today.
FINALLY….the music has stopped.

Ow wait…nope….it started again.

Alana was trapped in the shed….again! After an hour she started crying like mad! Poor thing. She does not learn though. It is her fifth time she did it. Know she is sprawled on the floor in a very unlady like manner….

I have a week to make my first bridal button bouquet. It’s for my cousin. I am making it at as a gift. I will keep you posted off course……

I am listening to my own music now: The whip it soundtrack. I LOVE movie soundtracks…..

But still the sound of Hawaiian – tinged music is bouncing of the walls….sigh.

I am in LOVE!!

I love all kind of music. And when I say I like it all I really mean it all. I like songs. So every song has a chance with me. If the flirtation turns into love it usually means a lifetime relationship as I consider myself very music monogamous. I am on the other hand not very monogamous when it comes to albums. They tend to disappoint me and this happened the first time I got Lady Gaga’s CD for Christmas of a good friend. It was not what I expected. Off course I loved the songs that made me want her CD in the first place but I could not get into her other songs. The flirtation ended and we parted…until ¨Alejandro¨ showed his face. I reckoned it could not hurt to have another go.

Now for the past two days I and Lady Gaga have a real sexy thing going on. The love is stronger than ever. I don’t understand why I did not recognize the potential the first time. But that doesn’t matter. I am in love…..with Lady Gaga’s album. Maybe even a first concert worth kind of love??? Ow that means shopping for an outrageous outfit!!!

Which one would I be able to find in size L?

SUPRISE

I threw Husband a SURPRISE party yesterday as this upcoming Thursday my husband will turn 30.
I wanted to celebrate this in a huge way. It did not turn out huge or that glamorous as I hoped but it was intimate and with the people we both love. That in the end is the most important thing.

My husband never had a real birthday party and can really tell a sad tale whenever we talk about birthdays. It’s no one’s fault. He couldn’t handle the stress when he was younger and because his birthday was smack in the summer Holiday most people were ON holiday so most people did not come. So they celebrated Husbands birthday on the same day as his younger brother eleven days earlier. This resulted in a tiny trauma because people brought a present for his brother but forgot about him….Poor husband.

With that in mind I organized a Children’s Party. Apart from the colder weather in comparison with the previous days and the party crashers aka wasps….the party was a blast. And Husband never saw it coming…..we all lie so well.

Garden Bench

Husband did do such a great job today and yesterday! He cleaned the tiles that we will give a way this week as we have decided to retile the garden. Tomorrow he will remove them together with the flower boxes as they will also go. They flower boxes are used as a litter box by the neighborhood cats….GROSE!

Meaning…

Maybe more garden posts this week……

And…

I am in LOVE with our bench we transformed in a huge garden pot….

So….

Instead our DIY bench pot:

And then we ran out of lavender….so we have to buy some more. For now we are protecting the earth with two garden gnomes and a pot from the cats .......

7 + 7 Summer Lovelies

When the sun shines I have more smiles to share. The winter makes me blue; the short, cold days, snow and hale. I even made up a whole ¨I hate snow song¨ due to the many months it snowed last winter and as entertaining whilst we didn’t have a cd player in the car. I do wish the bath will be installed before the upcoming winter so I can take a hot bath after a cold winter’s day.
What am I babbling about? It is summer. Yeah! The sun is shining, summer has started and the light makes me happy.

These things I love about summer too:
1. The beach. Blue water, white sands, parasols, the salty air, bathing suits, sunglasses, sandcastles.

2. Watermelon. Not only the lovely complementary colors but also the sweet watery taste. Hmmm.

3. BBQ’s. Friends, lovely food, eating outside.

4. Popsicles. Hmmm. Yummy!

5. A sprinkler waterfall. My husband made this for me in the summer of 2008.

6. Pedicures, manicures and colored nails. Your feet and hands need to look pretty in the summer.

7. Outdoor naps. Being Laaaazy!

8. Reading loads of books. Need I say more? I LOVE reading. And I want these books!!

9. Riding a bike...

10. Homemade ice tea and lemonade.

11. Late night walks and evenings in the garden with candles.

12. Swimming. I love water.

13. Summer Rain....walking through it and splashing in puddles.

14. Boat rides. So romantic....sigh

What do you love about the summer?

Keys

Alana loves parcels as much as I do.
Today I got the lovely keys I bought. I love old keys.

When I was about 9 I found an old huge key and I was very proud of it. Because of my find I wanted to become an archeologist. That summer I went around the neighborhood in search of old archeological finds. Collecting old pieces of plates and even bones I found. I saved it all in a shoebox. I can also remember it only lasted for a summer and I don’t know what happened to my key.

But the love for keys never ended. They remind me of secret gardens, diaries, old cabinets, keys to the heart and everything mysterious.

Husband was watching soccer so I made a key necklace instead.

2 years anniversary

It has been two years ago but it feels like more. I don’t mean that in a negative way…what I mean is that the moment we met it felt like we already knew each other. It was wonderfully familiar from the start. In the two years we’ve been together we have shared a lot too. After three months we were engaged, after 1 year and 3 months married and today we are celebrating our two year anniversary in our newly bought house. And to celebrate this we went out for dinner. In the same restaurant we had dinner last year celebrating we had the banns published and the restaurant is in the same town we got married in. It’s a lovely town, beautifully located at the beach. Today we had a lovely start of SUMMER with warm temperatures so we had a nice stroll along the beach after dinner.

In honor of it being Cooking Things Tuesday a picture of our appetizers made with husband’s phone.

Prawn piri piri husband enjoyed and melon with Serrano ham I loved.

As main course husband had a tuna steak and I had a Rib Eye steak and afterwards we were planning to eat a chocolate desert but we both had round, full and satisfied tummies. Yummy!!! It was a very delightful evening with the man I love! Thank you munchkin!

Button

Most of you lovely bloggers out there have a lovely button to go with their blogs. Sadly I don’t draw and I am not so clever yet in figuring out how some people make their blog and buttons look so professional. Now I tried to make some buttons for my blog but I am not sure if I made something nice yet. So that is where you come in. Could you tell me your favorite(s) or let me know if they stink so I will take up some drawing lessons!

In my attempt of making a button I revamped my own pictures.

Thoughts?
